Andre Barion (São Paulo, SP – 1996) uses sewing to join fabrics of varying qualities to create sculptural objects. Through this process, he seeks to create interest in the surface, addressing issues related to the bond between object and viewer, fetishism, and seduction. The manipulation of these materials stems from an interest in tapestry and also appears in installations and paintings, creating a pictorial space that flirts with figuration, using natural forms, and abstraction, through the use of graphics and patterns.

He has participated in exhibitions at institutions such as the São Paulo Biennial (2018), in collaboration with the Pineal research group, of which he is a member; CCSP – São Paulo Cultural Center (2018); Tomie Ohtake Institute (2017); Espaço das Artes (2018); Ribeirão Preto Art Museum (2022; 2019; 2018); Casa das Onze Janelas (2016); UEL (2019); Casa do Olhar Luiz Sacilotto (2019). He participated in the exhibition In the Shadow of the Common (2017), curated by José Spaniol and Sérgio Romagnolo, in A Immensa Preguiça (2018), curated by Guilherme Teixeira, among others.
