For over thirty years, Lescher has presented solid work as a sculptor, resulting from research into the articulation of materials, thoughts and forms. In this sense, the artist has a private, uninterrupted and precise dialogue with the space and the architectural project, and the choice of materials (which can be metal, stone, wood, felt, salts, brass and copper), fundamental elements to highlight the power of this speech. Even though Lescher’s work is strongly linked to industrial processes, presenting extreme refinement and rigor, his production does not have form as its only purpose, in fact, it goes beyond that. This contradiction paves the way for myth and imagination, essential elements for the construction of your Minimal Landscape.

The curatorship of the exhibition “The Machine of the World: Art and Industry in Brazil 1901 – 2021” brings together around 250 works by more than 100 artists in the seven temporary exhibition galleries of the Pina Luz building.

The exhibition examines the various ways in which the industry has impacted the production of artists in Brazil since the beginning of the last century, in an unprecedented perspective on the last 120 years of Brazilian art history.
