The Rising Star
Pedro Vaz's solo exhibition at KUBIKGALLERY Lisboa.
"The Rising Star transports us to a time when a star rising in the East could connect humans to the land and its cycles. The exhibitions’s title refers to Aldebaran, the red star whose appearance on the horizon of Serra da Estrela, was associated with the orientation of the
megalithic monuments in the Carregal do Sal region by archaeoastronomer Fábio Silva. This relationship between dolmen, mountain and sky summoned an ancient form of cosmological inscription of the landscape, connected to the movement of herds and the transient presence of high-altitude pastures."
