Where the Earth Remembers
Mónica de Miranda presents ‘Where the Earth Remembers’ at KUBIKGALLERY Porto in partnership with Carlos Carvalho Gallery — her first solo exhibition at the gallery, held simultaneously with shows at Galeria Municipal do Porto and Universidade Católica. The Portuguese-Angolan artist, whose practice spans photography, film, sound, and installation, offers a critical reflection on identity, territory, and memory, grounded in ecologies of care and narratives of resistance. Founder of Hangar, center for art and research, in Lisbon and representing Portugal at the 2024 Venice Biennale with the project “Greenhouse”, Mónica has exhibited widely at events such as the Berlin, Dakar, and Venice Biennials, and at institutions including MAAT, Barbican, MUAC, and Gulbenkian.
